Libbi had accrued 14 years of ballet, tap, and jazz as well as 2 ½ years of hip hop by the time she left for college. At
Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, she studied both regular and technique versions of ballet, jazz, and modern
dance for her minor degree in Dance. Libbi also studied Dance History, Improvisation/choreography, Dance Performance, and
Rhythmic Analysis. She majored in Deaf Education.
While in graduate school in 2005, at an American Sign Language variety show, Libbi discovered clogging. She immediately signed
up for the Rhythm Rocker cloggers and started performing with them. They proved pivotal in her later quest for certification
in clogging. The Cherokee Cloggers in Rusk were also supportive by having her teach there for several months prior to her
move to the Dallas area.
By day, Libbi is an online ESL teacher with VIPKid, clogging instructor with www.outschool.com, and Zumbini instructor. Previously
she was a member of Shufflin’ Shoes in Richardson under the direction of Dee Dick, but moved on to teach her own group
one night a week in Dallas. Libbi also took several years from Elaine Bender at Bruce Lea Dance Factory in Fort Worth until
she had to take time off due to conceiving her miracle child. Libbi taught her clogging team, The Texas Tempo Cloggers from
2008 to 2013. She now teaches private clogging classes in studio and home settings.
I currently am a member of the Cloghoppers in Farmer's Branch and will start teaching their classes this coming February 2019.
I am excited about this new journey in my clogging career.
Libbi has also attended the National Clogging Conventions in Phoenix (2006), Nashville (2007), San Diego (2008), New Orleans
(2009), Grapevine, TX (2011) and Nashville (2012). She taught in the open teach halls in Nashville, San Diego, New Orleans
and Grapevine and was thrilled by the opportunity to teach as an introductory instructor at the National Convention in Grapevine.
Libbi received her Certified Clogging Instructor (CCI) in Nashville in 2007. She has taught at the Texas Clogging Rally,
Double Toe Jam, the NORTEX Round-up, Luckenbach on Taps, Hickory Hoedown in Hickory, NC and also for a small workshop in Alberta,
Canada. She also co-hosted two workshops with Elaine Bender in Fort Worth which featured Simone Pace from South Carolina.
What fun clogging experiences she has been blessed to have!! :)
